It’s a Boy x 2

The cat is finally out of the bag…or bags in our case. Yesterday we decided to let the family in on the genders of the twins. Kayla and I have had to keep it a secret since this past Wednesday when we were scheduled for the Amnio. The procedure went great and we both loved the extra long ultrasound session we got to watch. Things at the Perinatal office are twice as long since there are two stinkers in there. It was amazing seeing the little squirts moving all around in their cramped little space. Both boys are doing good and are weighing in and measuring a week ahead of schedule, fantastic news for the boys. Since we’re between houses right now, we were going to forgo a get-together and just tell everybody the genders as we saw/talked to them but we just couldn’t resist. So, last minute, we decided to throw a little reveal dinner together. Kayla and I made a quick run to Hobby Lobby and Party City to pick up a couple of boxes and balloons. The only boxes we could find big enough to hold a balloon and also fitted with a lid we could lift up were some faux vintage trunks which, I think, turned out pretty great. Most of my camera equipment is packed away so I made due with what I had but I’m proud of the little video we were able to throw together and will cherish it always.

We’re PREGNANT!!!!!

Well, The Crew just got a little bigger.  Ok a LOT bigger!  We invited our families over for lunch and surprised them with the news before digging into dessert.  Some had a hunch we were going to announce something since this is pretty much the same scenario as when we announced Kayla being pregnant with Adalyn.  You can see that video here.  But, no one could have guessed that we are having TWINS!  The look on everyone’s faces in the video below are priceless.  We had such a blast having our family over for lunch and sharing this experience with them.  This is going to be a very exciting next few months and we can’t wait to see what the future holds.  Thanks goes out to our loving and supporting family.  We love you all and appreciate everything you do for us.

Addy’s CF Awareness Video

The Great Strides walk is right around the corner!  Saturday, May 18, 2013 to be exact.  This will be our 2nd year participating in this UH-MAZING fundraising event.  We had an absolute blast last year walking with friends and family.  There is live music, free food, games, and the best group of people you could ever want to be around.  We urge everyone to join our team and help us raise money in honor of our daughter Adalyn.  If you can’t make it to the walk, please consider donating and helping us reach our goal of $10k.  This year, Kayla and I decided to make a little video showing how CF effects our family.  I hope it gives a little insight as to what Adalyn has to go through living with this disease.  The CF Foundation has made leaps and bounds when it comes to finding new medicines and treatments.  The FDA approved drug Kalydeco has opened the door to new research and brought us one step closer to a cure.  It’s definitely exciting times in the CF community!

Our Cruise to Cozumel

Well, Adalyn is officially a world traveler.  The Crew just got back from a fantastic four day cruise to Cozumel.  While mother nature was going awry here on the East Coast, we were enjoying the warm weather and beautiful water Mexico has to offer.  Adalyn got the full beach experience at Mr. Sancho’s.  I can’t say that she was a fan of the ocean waves hitting her legs but she did like the music, pool, and squishy sand between her toes.  We don’t expect anyone but the closest of friends and family to sit through the three minute (24 seconds) video below, but I’m so glad we have this experience documented.  We’ll certainly treasure this in the years to come.

Pumpkin Carving

After just getting back from our vacation, getting unpacked, doing chores around the house, and getting the candy ready we realized we had about an hour to carve the pumpkins before the trick-or-treat-ers showed up!  So, we scrambled to get the pumpkins carved and on the porch as fast as we could.  Luckily, no one lost a finger and no blood was drawn.  Whew!  Here’s a short home video of the shenanigans.

Scooter

I can’t believe it, but Adalyn will be crawling before we know it!  So, today, Kayla recommended that we capture Addy in her current scoot mode.  I don’t know about you, but I think this has got to be one of the best ways to spend 30 seconds of your time.  🙂

Home Video: Teething

I just wanted to post this short (about a minute long) video of Addy chewing on one of her most favorite toys, the Sophie Giraffe.  There’s not  a lot going on with this home movie but I think this, and future videos, will be a great addition to the photos on this site to remind Kayla and I of what Adalyn was like at this time in her life.  If you do decide to watch, be sure to catch the last 5 seconds…hilarious.
