Baby Watch (DEFCON 1)

Baby Watch 2013 is in full swing!  Baby boy is head down and preparing for debarkation.  Today, Kayla went to her now weekly OB appointment and the doctor confirmed that her cervix is softening and she is estimated to be about 1cm dilated.  Please consider the wakeup call taken.  We’re scrambling to get the house in order and ready for baby boy’s arrival.  We spent this past Sunday morning picking up his furniture from Babies R Us.  Unfortunately the boxes were too big for my In-Law’s van so we ended up renting a U-haul to bring the furniture to our home.  Our dear friend, Vicki, has planned a baby shower for us at work tomorrow which should be a lot of fun.  Thanks Vicki!  Now we wait.  Kayla’s OB gave us the name of the doctor on call this weekend at the hospital so we’re thinking that’s her guesstimate as to when Baby boy may show up!  Please keep Kayla and baby boy in your thoughts and prayers.    We’ll be sure to keep everyone up to date here on the blog so stay tuned!

Happy Halloween 2013

Adalyn enjoyed her second Halloween almost as much as she loved devouring the candy she received.  Things were much different this year compared to last.  Addy actually enjoyed dressing up in her costume.  As a matter of fact, there were a couple of days she spotted her cat costume and asked us to let her wear it around the house.  Mommy and Daddy of course obliged and she would run around the house meowing and admiring her cat-self in the mirror.  SO CUTE!  This year, instead of roaming all through the neighborhood, we paced ourselves and opted to take Adalyn down the street we live on for her first Trick or Treat adventure.  Her little cat legs didn’t slow down once.  She stopped at each house and said her “Twick ah Tweet” or “Happy Hawoween,” instantly melting the heart of anyone that answered the door.  Not to mention scoring an extra handful of candy.  🙂    Other exciting moments we would like to record for the month of October: Adalyn went “pee-pee pot-aye”, she started “reading” books to us, said “Thank you Daddy” without being prompted, oh and she is repeating EVERYTHING we say.

The Cagle Experience

With all the hustle and bustle of moving into a new home and preparing for baby boy’s arrival we are rushing last minute to get the Halloween decorations up and a pumpkin carved.  Today, we managed to take an hour and visit Cagle’s Family Farm.  The pumpkin farm we visited last year was kind of a let-down, but Cagle’s was nice.  Adalyn had a great time riding a pony, jumping on the gigantic jumping pillows, petting the goats, chowing down on some boiled peanuts, and of course running around in the pumpkin patch.

Home Sweet Home Our 2nd Weekend

We haven’t been able to fully enjoy our new home with all the boxes lying around the place.  Thankfully, we’re now 90-95% unpacked and can breathe easier now that cardboard isn’t king.  With all the work we’ve been putting into our home I’ve been itching to take pictures but just haven’t been able to make the time.  But tonight, after dinner, we had the most amazing sunset going on in our backyard.  So, Kayla grabbed Adalyn and I grabbed the camera.  We were only out there for a few minutes but I’m glad we took the time to go outside and enjoy the view.

T-minus 5 Days

The Crew is preparing for liftoff…  Err, moving day at least.  We’re super excited as we’ve received final confirmation that we are scheduled to close on our new house this coming Friday.  We’ll spend all day Saturday and Sunday moving and hopefully have some time leftover on Monday to relax and enjoy our new diggs.  I am so glad we were able to find a place we can call home before baby boy arrives.  Hopefully he’ll take after mommy and decide NOT to arrive early (Ouch!  Just kidding honey!).  🙂  This weekend we took advantage of the tax-free offerings on energy star appliances and bought a fridge, washer, and dryer.  The other appliances were included in the new home.  Hmm…speaking of the new house, I guess we won’t reside at Lakeview anymore…maybe I should think of another name for the blog…  Any thoughts?

North GA Fair 2013

First of all, I want to send out a big THANK YOU to Dad and Karen for coming down and helping get things in order with our home.  The sink looks great and I think any potential buyers will think the same.  After tooling around the house on Saturday we decided to take Adalyn to the North GA State Fair Sunday afternoon.  She’s still a little too young to really enjoy everything the Fair has to offer but she had a great time watching the animal shows and getting all sorts of germs at the petting zoo.
