Happy New Year everybody! We’ve been busy around here trying to get our schedule in order. It’s back to work for me starting tomorrow so Kayla will have her hands full until she goes back in February. Hunter is still getting up about every three hours but every now and then he’ll surprise us with a longer sleep stint. Speaking of Hunter, it sure is fun to relive all the “firsts” again. Hunter has started cooing and smiling and just melting our hearts all over the place. Adalyn is doing good too. I think she’s still going through all the presents she received from family this Christmas. Good times! Be sure to check out the picture of Hunter below. I took a similar one of Adalyn here. It’s fun to look back at Adalyn when she was his age and compare.
Doc McAddy
Future Master Chef
Flipping eggs like a boss. I love that this girl has nerves of steel. No excitement in that face whatsoever.
When Little Girls and Pigs Fly
Adalyn “flying” around the house with her new backpack. You have no idea how hard it is to get Super Girl and her flying pig to stand still for a photo… ISO was at the max to get these.
The After Party
Christmas day was really a whirlwind of excitment and activity for our little lady. It wasn’t until the next morning she had a chance to “break in” her new treasures.
¡Viva el huevo!
Santa 2013
This year’s photo with Santa went much better than expected. We didn’t quite achieve the gold standard: eyes right at the camera, with a perfect shining smile, but we’ll shoot for that next year. We were just glad to get both the kids to the Mall in one piece without any major complications. We timed it just right too. Hunter was out cold and we had talked Santa up to Adalyn the whole ride there. She was so excited. After we were done with pictures she wanted to stay and stand by the fence and wave to him until we were all checked out and ready to leave. So cute. Oh and just for comparison, be sure to click here to see last year’s…attempt. 🙂
Christmas Card Outtakes
Houston, Christmas Card pictures are complete! This year, it was our mission to capture one good picture of Adalyn holding her brother Hunter “like a big girl.” This was the first time we let Adalyn attempt to hold him and I’m so proud to say that she did great. We told her how to sit and where to put her hands and she followed every instruction to a tee. After a good 30-45 minutes I can satisfyingly say, mission accomplished. It was ADORABLE. Adalyn was so proud of herself. We can’t wait to see the finished product all printed up and ready for mailing. We’ll post the chosen picture here after we’ve mailed them out. Oh and I’ve had a couple of people ask who we use for printing out our cards. We’ve used Mpix for a few years now and they’ve never let us down. We especially love their return address stickers that wrap around the card sealing them up. Saves the tongue from those nasty paper-cuts. Doh!
